Sexual harassment and violence are two of the many factors that contribute to the difficulties that women researchers face during their career, possibly the most hidden, but certainly not the least important ones. The problem of sexual harassment in the academic and research environment is present in every country, and at every level, from students to full professors, as demonstrated by the studies that have investigated this issue . This situation is not acceptable, and we consider it necessary and urgent to take action, at the European Union EU level and in a coordinated way, in order to address the issue and make this behaviour stop once for all.
